Sustainability specialist with over 12 years experience in Corporate Social Responsibility.

I advise brands on how to adapt their purchasing practices in a way that enables decent working conditions at their production locations. My strength is to monitor and manage labour issues and translate external trends into CSR policy and support with concrete guidance and tools. Recent topics include living wage and prevention and mitigation of excessive overtime in factories. I lead a team of social auditors to conduct yearly assessments of Fair Wear members.

Coordinator brand performance checking @ Fair Wear
jul 2018 — Huidig

As a case manager for a diverse portfolio of garment brands, I:

• advise and train member companies in conducting thorough human rights due dilligence, helping them prepare for upcoming legislation, CSRD.

• identify members companies’ needs regarding learning and innovation and use this to develop an annual innovation strategy and planning.

• develop guidance documents, training and other tools to address specific issues and support members to achieve their sustainability goals. One of the tools developed is the Fair Working Hours Guide, which supports companies in improving their purchasing practices to enable reasonable working hours at their suppliers and reduce excessive overtime.

As coordinator performance checking, I:

• align Fair Wear's validated assessment system (brand performance check) with the OECD guidelines.

• train and lead a team of performance checkers to ensure quality and consistency in conducting the performance checks for member companies.

• assess human rights due diligence efforts of member companies via the yearly performance check.
