 I have been an educator for 16 years, as a classroom teacher and a school administrator. I began as an English for Speakers of Other Languages teacher for secondary students. I developed and implemented a curriculum that addressed their learning gaps. Following that, I taught Kindergarten and honed my classroom management and lesson-planning skills. Later, I served as a principal and assistant principal at several primary and secondary schools in the United States. I  oversaw the instruction and ensured adherence to policy. My most recent role was with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s educational services team. As a literacy instructional coach, I provided professional development and coached teachers in using the curriculum. This role required a variety of skills, as I needed to be well-versed in multiple instructional approaches, be an effective instructional coach, and understand student learning progression.  I love helping teachers grow professionally.
