Do you look at the world in terms of systems and how to change them for the better, and is your approach intersectional at the very core? Are you aware of the grassroots initiatives that are making a difference towards a fair and just world? Apply now and become our new intern Designing Technology for All at Pakhuis de Zwijger. We are actively looking for new faces and a broad diversity of experiences and expertise.

"Inclusion happens by design, or not at all."

- OluTimehin Adegbeye (writer, editor and activist)

What will you be doing?

At the beginning of 2025 Pakhuis de Zwijger launched Designing Technology for All, a new series focusing on the potential of technology to create an inclusive digital landscape where everyone can fully participate in social, economic, and cultural life. This series will examine how technology can support belonging, accessibility, and equal opportunities for all. This new programme builds on the foundation of Designing Cities for All (DCFA), which centered on designing inclusive spaces and systems—Cities of Belonging—where people feel at home across diverse backgrounds and identities. With Designing Technology for All, we now turn our attention to the intersections of technology, society, and design. In the coming months, this series will delve into how technological advancements can reshape participation and inclusivity, fostering a society where everyone can connect and thrive.

You will learn how to organise a public programme in terms of both content and production. You will be a part of the Creative Industries team and will be given your own responsibilities at Designing Technology for All. This means that you will look for interesting articles and perspectives concerning inclusive design. You will also approach speakers and will be involved in the practical side of producing activities, such as live casts, brainstorms, workshops, and exhibitions.

Together we will determine the exact content of your internship, to be able to match it with your personal goals and ambitions. The internship consists of programme production, research and writing activities.
