Boost Your Career with the Global Challenges Professional Programme

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and make a real contribution to a fairer and more sustainable world?

The Global Challenges Professional Programme offers ambitious early- and mid-career professionals the chance to deepen their impact, gain hands-on experience, and earn a recognised academic degree — all in one year.

What is Global Challenges Professional?

This post-initial master’s programme, offered by Radboud University in collaboration with the University of Nairobi, combines:

• A paid position (0.8 FTE) with an organisation working on global sustainability challenges

• One day per week of academic learning, mostly online, in an international classroom

• Professional coaching to support your personal and strategic development

Through a hands-on curriculum, you’ll develop expertise on key global issues such as inclusive development, sustainable supply chains and climate adaptation. This unique mix of theory and practice equips you to think systemically, collaborate across sectors, and create lasting impact—both locally and globally.

What makes this programme unique?

• You develop strategic skills while working in the field

• You gain cross-sector insights, preparing you to work with companies, governments and NGOs

• You build an international network of professionals committed to global change

• You graduate with an accredited Master’s degree (NVAO) – enhancing your career prospects

Three flexible routes to join:

1. Within your current job – Embed the programme in your existing role and elevate your work

2. Via matching by the programme – Apply and (if selected) get matched to an organisation aligned with your profile

3. With your (future) employer – Already in touch with an organisation or applying for roles? Propose joining the programme as part of your onboarding or development plan and create impact together from day one.

Why join?

• Gain practical experience and academic insight at the same time

• Join a diverse, international community of changemakers

• Contribute to real-world impact while investing in your career

• Learn to work across sectors and develop systems-thinking skills
