Coordinator Programs & Partners – EOF Rwanda 

(Zwolle, the Netherlands, 28 hours per week) 

 

Red een Kind (Help a Child) is a Christian, international relief and development organization, founded in 1968 in The Netherlands. Help a Child provides a future for children in need, their family, and their entire community.  

Your job  

As Coordinator of Programs & Partners, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects and partners of Help a Child projects. Your first and foremost focus will be managing our newly granted Education Outcome Fund (EOF) project in Rwanda. Other projects and partners that you will manage are determined based on your expertise, preference and coordinated with the rest of the team. 

About EOF 

Help a Child is in the lead of a consortium that will implement a EOF project in Rwanda. The launch of this project is expected in September 2025 and the project will run up to 2029. The project focuses on improving the quality of Early Childhood Education in 130 ECD (Early Childhood Development) centres in Rwanda. The funding type is result based funding and requires Help a Child to work with an impact investor and with a robust set of monitoring tools for outcome measurement, for more info visit: Education Outcomes Fund.  

As Coordinator Programs & Partners, you are part of the Dutch department (six colleagues) responsible for Help a Child’s projects and partners. You report directly to the Manager Programs & Partners, Geert de Jonge. You’ll be in close contact with the program team in the respective country and monitoring the progress of all projects and partners on a regular basis. 

 

Your profile 

Are you ready to add your expertise to our team? We look forward to hearing from you when you: 

  • Hold a master’s degree in a relevant field, such as humanitarian aid, development, or international relations. 
  • Have at least five years of experience and expertise in managing large-scale, strategically important projects and in humanitarian work, preferably in Rwanda.
  • Are a passionate and pro-active person who is deeply motivated to make a difference for children in need. 
  • You are able to think outside the box, continuously adapting projects based on data and lessons learned. 
  • You have a good understanding of finance, Knowledge of result-based funding approaches is preferred. 
  • You have a good understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, especially outcome monitoring. 
  • Preferably have experience in (early) childhood education. 
  • Are a team player who can effectively motivate and coordinate teams. 
  • Are open to travel to Rwanda.  

 

Your skills and expertise: 

  • Experience with planning and coordination of large-scale projects of institutional donors such as the EU or UN. 
  • Understanding of the Education Outcome Fund.  
  • Proven ability to coordinate large consortia. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Cultural sensitivity and high standards of integrity.
