Water and Sanitation for Low Income Communities Phase II Project (WSLIC II) was a six-year, US $106 million (84.5 million Euro) project funded by Australia, a World Bank/IDA loan, the Indonesian Government and beneficiaries. It ran from 2001 until 2006, and was extended to 2008 with a further year to consolidate the lessons learnt. The project has to date empowered more than 2,200 rural communities in 37 districts of eight provinces to establish, operate and manage their own improved water supply services along with improving rural sanitation, school WASH provisions and promoting improved hygiene practices.
Christine Sijbesma from IRC has undertaken a three-month consultancy to assist the project in the design and implementation of impact evaluation activities to be undertaken prior to project completion.
