Better Places based in Leiden, the Netherlands, provides an online platform for travellers design and book a tailor-made trip by connecting them directly with local agents in 30 countries outside of Europe. These local operators are tourism professionals with a passion for travel and people and a strong focus on responsible travel. Better Places focuses on the Dutch and Belgian market. In Germany we operate as Fairaway and internationally as Better Places Travel.
For our international branch, Better Places Travel, we are currently looking for a recent graduate and native speaker of English to join our team in the role of Operations Manager starting in November 2017.
Better Places is a fast-growing start-up that offers a lot of room for own initiative and responsibility. We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and pro-active candidate. You will be given space to learn within a small team. Accuracy is important, as is a flexible, service-orientated attitude. Native proficiency in English is a must, as is a good working knowledge of Dutch. Ideally, you are also passionate about sustainability and social enterprise and live in Leiden or nearby.
- Bachelor degree, preferably in the field of tourism

You will be responsible for the running of all operations for Better Places Travel. This will involve, but is not limited to: handing all incoming mail traffic, processing and invoicing all bookings, speaking to clients who phone us, managing all communication with local agents, making progress reports, website maintenance.
