Omschrijving

Do you want to fight for equality? Tackling inequality at its roots, together with colleagues, our partner organizations and activists in more than 90 countries? To change the systems behind it, once and for all!

Oxfam Novib stands behind the people who stand up for equality. Together, we fight for a world where everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of gender, ethnicity or skin color. A world where everyone feels safe; where income gaps are shrinking instead of growing, where climate change is tackled in a firmer and more honest way.

Equality is the common thread in our work and projects, both internally and externally. We recognize that our team of colleagues can become even more diverse, and that only with a diverse team can we gain a broad perspective on the world. Therefore, we want to encourage everyone who hesitates to apply, no matter the reason. Our aim is to create an environment where everyone not only feels welcome, but where diversity is embraced and celebrated. Let's strive together to build a team that offers a rich variety of perspectives, enabling us to achieve an inclusive and inspiring work environment.

Apply and become part of Oxfam Novib!

Internship description
Join the Green Climate Justice Unit, which carries a portfolio of programs and projects supporting activists and movements fighting for climate justice around the world. You will join the Tipping Point project team, and specifically focus on the Power to Voices platform. The Power to Voices platform is a new digital platform for activists to come together, network, learn, and organize in a safe environment. This platform has its own team with members from different teams throughout the organisation. The Digital Activist Support intern will work with both the Tipping Point and Power to Voices team in supporting a better ‘marketplace’ of learning and resources.

Key tasks

  • Compile an overview of learning and resources for activists both on the platform itself, but also within Oxfam Novib’s internal learning structures
  • Conduct desk research to further develop preparatory notes on the specific needs of (young) climate activists
  • Compile and prioritize a list of needs based on interviews, research, and workshops of activists and what they need to be supported in their work
  • Scan and compile different options of vendors, individuals, or pre-made material outside of Oxfam making key suggestions for better offerings on our platform
  • Support in the plan for the updates to the Power of Voices platform
  • Participate in collecting and analysing data from the Power to Voices platform
  • Assist with gathering and formatting relevant communications material for our website and other purposes
  • Participate in internal, and where relevant external, meetings on Tipping Point-related topics

Who are we looking for?

  • Currently a bachelor's degree student in a relevant study.
  • Very good command of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word), and ideally also with software to create creative content
  • Experience with analysing qualitative data.
  • Excellent written & spoken English skills required, other languages are considered a perk
  • Strong cultural sensitivity and gender awareness; excellent communication skills.
  • A highly motivated, result-oriented, and independent worker
  • Willingness to learn and share your knowledge with others
  • Experience with Content Management Systems or running professional social media accounts a plus
