Free Press Unlimited is looking for a highly motivated volunteer who will join our team to work on the campaign towards gender equality in and through the media.

Who we are
Across the globe, journalists and media professionals supply their communities with objective information. Free Press Unlimited actively supports these professionals in more than 40 countries, by offering them training, temporary financial and material aid and by strengthening their professional capacity. So that as many people as possible gain and keep access to vital information. For many people around the world, access to reliable information is by no means a given. Nevertheless, impartial information is of crucial importance to all of us if we wish to survive and develop as human beings.
About the campaign
Free Press Unlimited is organising the Media4Women global campaign that will put gender equality on the local and international agenda from 1 March 2020 until 15 March 2020. Together with our local partners around the world, we share the ambition of achieving gender equality in and through the media.
The volunteer will support the core team that is responsible for organising and managing the campaign and production of content. Throughout the preparation period and the campaign period, the volunteer will:
- support the online communication campaign via social media and manage and distribute a campaign toolkit;
- document and monitor all campaign activities by local partners and Free Press Unlimited;
- act as one of the contacts for local partner organisations;
- address potential issues and report these to the core team;
- be responsible for documenting campaign results and lessons learned.
The position is a volunteer job for eight (8) hours per week to support the campaign team twice a week (2×4 hours). We can offer you a volunteer allowance in accordance with the Dutch tax law regulations and you can join your colleagues for free lunch.
We are looking for a volunteer who has experience in working in project teams, can communicate efficiently and has a good command of the English language. You should be well versed on social media communications tools and able to assist the partners during the online campaign. You will be the linking pin between people joining from different teams within the organisation in a task force. Ideally, you have experience working in a multicultural setting and are able to document activities and lessons learned. You know how to work with spreadsheets and you have a good eye for planning.
