CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality (CHOICE) is a professional organization led by young people between the ages of 16 and 29. CHOICE actively promotes and supports the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) of young people globally, as well as meaningful youth participation in this field. We do this through two main programs: as part of our Youth Leadership Program, CHOICE supports and trains African and Asian youth organizations who advocate for SRHR. Within the International Advocacy Program, we influence policies and decision-making processes on an international level, for example by advocating at the United Nations conferences in New York. CHOICE’s current programs are for a large part executed in collaboration with an alliance consisting of international, local and Dutch organizations (among them are Rutgers, dance4life, IPPF, Plan Nederland and Simavi).
The board is the governing body of CHOICE. The board shares the vision of CHOICE and carries this vision out, both externally and internally. The CHOICE board has the final responsibility for the development, execution, continuity and monitoring of the long-term strategic plan and yearly work plan in collaboration with the Executive Director, staff and volunteers.
