MSF coordinates operations through collaborations between global offices. MSF-OCA operates medical humanitarian interventions in about 25 countries with more than 11,000 staff.
The office of MSF-Holland located in Amsterdam hosts more than 400 employees, offering direct support to MSF-OCA operations. Around 50 staff focus on recruitment, communication and fundraising in The Netherlands (MSF-Holland) and 350 staff are focused on supporting MSF-OCA operations.

Position within the organisation
Our communication and Fundraising department consists of approximately 35 People; content creators, marketing manager, press officers, fundraisers, web/data analysts. Within Fundraising, the Donor Services unit is responsible for data management, donor administration and public information. In the challenging position of Database Marketeer, you are not only involved in technology, but you are also closely involved in all MSF fundraising campaigns.
Objectives of the position
As a Database Marketeer you are in charge of the fundraising database and will manage and grow this database in order to optimise fundraising results. You are motivated to enhance the fundraising data and seize its opportunities in fundraising strategies and activities.
You will make sure the data is easily accessible for all users through our CRM system and make adaptations when needed. Also the processes to manipulate data will be optimised by you.
The driving force behind the implementation of data-driven way of working in the fundraising team will be you. You will advise on and build customer journeys and fundraising campaign targeting in cooperation with the fundraisers.

Advising Fundraisers on data processing and procedures and the consequences of proposed fundraising activities
Work closely with the Fundraisers in order to improve and optimize fundraising activities and identify new opportunities
Communicate with external database suppliers on technical requirements to safeguard the development and maintenance process and with fundraising contractors and financial institutions on technical issues to instruct and consult them
Analyse customer journey and fundraising campaign results and optimizes them in coordination with the Fundraisers
Analyse fundraising data to predict income and trends and identifies business opportunities
Analyse external developments and trends in the fields of data management, payments, legal and regulatory obligations and acts on them
Define optimal target audience for fundraising campaigns in coordination with the Fundraisers and sets up target selection
Designing customer journeys with the Fundraisers and implements them
Design the CRM environment, investigates CRM tooling and gives guidance to relevant staff how to use them
Develop and propose data management policies and translate these into concrete improvements of fundraising processes and systems
Ensure the quality of fundraising data by performing data processing activities
Plan for, investigate, analyse, design, implement and test new business requirements
We are looking for
An expert on data and want to take responsibility for building the optimal fundraising database. You are data-driven and eager for a challenge! You want to develop data and know how to analyse this in order to optimise fundraising results. You are pro-active and solution-oriented and have good communication skills.
• HBO or WO education (Beta) and – preferably – relevant work experience in a fundraising or CRM environment
• Experience in a data driven and changing environment;
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player
• Understanding of common security practices as privacy (GDPR);
• Soluition-oriented, hands-on, with integrety and an innovative and creative mind set;
• knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Dynamics CE or other CRM system and preferably knowledge of SSIS and Azure
• Good command of the Dutch and English language in both speech and writing
A challenging position within a stimulating, professional working environment in a major international organisation.
A Dutch employment contract from 1 February 2021, based on 40 hours per week. The contract is for one year with a renewal option (subject to satisfactory performance) based on a fulltime appointment.
A gross monthly salary in scale 6 between between € 2.875,- and € 4.106,- depending on professional experience, based on a 40-hour working week.
