Development & Peacebuilding Graduate; Educator & Community Practitioner
  • Dublin, Ierland
  • 8 december 2025

I am passionate about tackling development and socio-political challenges through research and practice.  I have completed an MA in International Peacebuilding, Security and Development Practice at NUI Maynooth, where my dissertation analysed the role of social media narratives and economic frustration in influencing perceptions of anti-immigration sentiment within a marginalised community.  I received a First Class Honours degree for my study and research.  I have over five years’ experience working in Secondary and Primary education, and have led international development initiatives and projects since my youth, therein gaining strong public-speaking, analytical, and interpersonal skills.  I bring a solution-focused mindset, collaborative ability, and a commitment to inclusive, evidence-based work.

Opleiding

9 @ National University of Ireland Maynooth
sep 2024 — sep 2025

I completed a Master of Arts in International Peacebuilding, Security and Development Practice at Maynooth University, graduating with First Class Honours. The programme provided advanced training in conflict analysis, mediation, negotiation, development theory, and human security, with core modules including Conflict, Development and Security; Peace Processes and Conflict Intervention; Contemporary Global Issues; and Critical Learning and Participatory Development. I achieved 80% in my dissertation, a mixed-methods study exploring digital narratives and anti-immigration sentiment in a disadvantaged Irish community, which strengthened my qualitative research, monitoring, evaluation, and ethical fieldwork skills. The programme’s Research Methods module further developed my analytical competencies and ability to design rigorous, socially grounded studies.

Overall, the degree enhanced my capacity to work with marginalised groups, understand complex socio-political systems, and apply evidence-based, participatory approaches to peacebuilding and community development.

8 @ National University of Ireland Maynooth
sep 2020 — mei 2023

I completed a joint BA in International Development and a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) at Maynooth University, graduating with First Class Honours. My studies provided a strong interdisciplinary foundation in global inequality, humanitarian action, migration, political systems, and development practice, alongside core legal training in constitutional, criminal, EU, company, evidence, property, child, and media law. Over the three years, I consistently achieved high results across both disciplines, including advanced modules such as Globalisation and Development, Gender and Development, Humanitarian Action, Development & Conflict, and Media, Advocacy & Development.

This programme strengthened my analytical, research, and critical thinking skills while deepening my understanding of rights-based frameworks, governance, and social justice. It also prepared me to engage with complex socio-political issues and equipped me with a versatile skillset applicable to community development, policy work, and the wider humanitarian sector.

During my time job-sharing between North Bay Educate Together and St. Francis of Assisi National Schools, I worked as an Additional Literacy and Special Educational Needs Teacher while completing my Bachelor’s degree. I delivered targeted literacy, numeracy, and supplemental learning support to students from Junior Infants to 6th Class, adapting lessons to diverse learning needs. I administered and corrected STEN and Drumcondra assessments, maintained accurate educational records, and provided classroom supervision and substitute teaching when required. This role strengthened my skills in inclusive education, child-centred practice, and supporting learners facing a range of academic and social challenges.

Teacher of Politics & Society, English, Religious Education; Special Educational Needs Teacher @ Malahide Community School
sep 2020 — Huidig

From 2020 to 2025, I held a multifaceted role at Malahide Community School, working as a subject teacher, State Examinations Commission Superintendent, Additional Literacy Teacher, and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support. I taught Politics & Society, English, Religious Education, CSPE and SPHE across Junior and Senior Cycle, delivering engaging lessons and supporting students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. I provided targeted literacy and learning support to SEN and AEN learners, adapting materials to individual needs and contributing to a more inclusive learning environment.

In my capacity as a State Examinations Superintendent, I oversaw the secure, compliant administration of both Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate exams, including accommodations for DARE/HEAR and SEN candidates. This role required meticulous documentation, strict adherence to national protocols, confidentiality, and coordination with staff and students.

I also contributed to school-wide assessment processes through administering and supervising Term Assessments and DATS testing, supporting the accurate collection of baseline data to inform student support planning. Across all duties, I demonstrated strong organisational skills, a commitment to safeguarding, and consistent professionalism in promoting student wellbeing and a positive school culture.
