As an experienced nonprofit leader, project manager, writer, and believer that equitable philanthropy is needed now more than ever, I can help a range of organizations. I have a unique combination of political, educational, nonprofit, and creative experiences that I believe will be an asset.

Recently, I served as Executive Director for Austin Bat Cave, a creative writing nonprofit that worked exclusively with low income/Title 1 schools in Central Texas. I was the face of the organization and served as the only HR and operations manager. At ABC I did everything from change lightbulbs to create multiple employee handbooks and organization-wide policy documents. As Executive Director I oversaw ABC’s in-school programs, summer programs, and our adult programs. I worked with the Board of Directors on multiple end of year appeals, fundraising events, and public programs. I’m comfortable coordinating logistics, tracking a work plan, and communicating with multiple stakeholders. 

I’ve trained thousands of educators around the world through Advanced Learning in Education. These trainings ranged from three-day interactive seminars, led by me alone or with a cohort of other teachers. I personally created many of the training materials used in these presentations. I also served as an on-campus consultant for teachers and administrators in schools ranging from Houston to Sydney, Australia.

In addition, I’m an experienced writer and editor with decades of experience working in multiple genres and forms from political communications and grant writing to essay writing and fiction editing. I’ve also managed large projects as Executive Director of a nonprofit, for The Texas Book Festival, and for multiple political consulting firms. Whether that’s executing Lit Crawl for the Texas Book Festival, coordinating mailings to millions of union members, or getting students ready for state tests, I’m able to work independently and with teams on a larger mission. 

I have a DAFT visa and can work on a contract basis in the Netherlands or across the EU.
