Omschrijving

As a project controller within the International team you get the combination of a dynamic working environment full of professionalization and improvement, with very diverse tasks and work that really matters.

The importance is great: in 12 countries we carry out large programs with impact with the Netherlands Red Cross. Together with the local Red Cross/Red Crescend society, we deploy our people in the field to help. For emergency aid (after an earthquake or war), for research (digital mapping, climate) and for prevention (information and local self-reliance).

The financial side of all these projects is also important: major donors expect us to handle money carefully. How do you balance emergency aid on the one hand with solid financial accountability on the other? Which costs are eligible and can be justified? How much money is left and where can we spend it on? How do we ensure that the costs are entered correctly in the books? How do we report, internally and externally?

The regulations are growing and with that also grows the continuous need to professionalize our accountability. At the same time, we cannot lose out on decisiveness in providing humanitarian aid. To respond to this, the Finance team must have a better overview and has to be able to do more. From the booking process to the audit, from the budget to reporting. To strengthen the project administration team, we are looking for an all-round financial for 32-40 hours a week.

 

Tasks and responsibilities

Your responsibilities and tasks will be very diverse. The management of certain programs, the booking of field administrations and allocations, preparing or checking  reports, advising colleagues in the field and at the head office, the financial contribution to new applications, everything is possible. You do what is necessary, where it is necessary. You report directly to the manager of the team.

 

It is important that you have an eye for what needs to be done, that you take a proactive approach and that you are self-managing. You are broadly educated, you like speed and diversity and you naturally learn things very quickly.

 

Skills and qualifications

  • You have a HBO working and thinking level;
  • You have an education and/or work experience in financial administration and accounting;
  • You are familiar with Exact Financials and Winpaccs or can quickly master them;
  • You know your way around Excel well, understand reports and make thorough and clear analyzes and accounts, in line with internal and external requirements;
  • Professional level English is a must. French is a distinct advantage. The majority of our organization operates in Dutch. You will need to be able to read Dutch at an acceptable level;
  • You are willing to travel to our countries several times a year.

  • Our offer

An employment contract for the duration of one year, with the possibility of extension, for 32-40 hours per week. A flexible and people-oriented working environment with room for initiative and development.

 

Salary is in accordance with salary scale 9 of the Collective Labor Agreement of the Red Cross, depending on education and experience (min. € 2.830,46 and max. € 3.546,57 gross per month for full-time employment 40 hours per week).

 

Our association office is located in The Hague, within walking distance of Laan van NOI station. We work according to activity-based working, just like your other colleagues you work partly from home or at the office and you get a telephone and laptop at your disposal.
