Omschrijving
We are looking for a dynamic individual to drive the communication, engagement, and overall stakeholder management and relationship building component within the Healthy Village Program as well as in support of the Max Foundation Ethiopia Country Office in business development.
He/she will support the Max Ethiopia Country Director in a broad range of activities consisting of three categories: Programme & Business Development, Engagement and Stakeholder Management, and Communication & Knowledge Management.
The Young Expert will utilize the communication and engagement expertise to network with potential partners and donors and design programmes in the areas of WASH and FNS.
He/she will contribute to the engagement pillar by strengthening relationship with various stakeholders that are important for the successful implementation of the Healthy Village Program, and in general design engagement mechanisms to enable to scaling up of the Healthy Village approach by government and other stakeholders.
Thirdly, he/she will support the communication and knowledge management activities within the Ethiopia Healthy Village Programme and Max Foundation Ethiopia country office in general.
Core responsibilities
• Support in development and/or implementation of the Programme & Business Development strategy
• Map out all stakeholders engaged in food and nutrition, WASH and climate change adaptation.
• Facilitate dialogue with relevant stakeholders.
• Design knowledge management & communication strategy specific to the Max Foundation Ethiopia country office.
• Gather and share success stories from the field
• Travel to field to document and share activities
• Review various reports ensuring quality of all written products.
• Facilitate and/or participate in various platforms and gather key inputs/trends.
• Support in gathering innovative practices from the sector, and present it to in- and external platforms.
Approximately, 50% of the YEP person’s time will be in support to Programme & Business Development for Max Foundation, reporting to and supporting the Ethiopian Country Director, and aligning with the
Netherlands team. The remaining 50% will be invested in knowledge management, communications and engagement. The Young Expert will be located in Addis Ababa at the MF Office.
Job requirements
We are looking for a young entrepreneurial thinker and eager achiever to drive programme development, communications and engagement with an aim to strengthen MF Ethiopia programming and its impact.
The following characteristics and skills are essential:
- Minimum 3 / 4 years of relevant experience with graduate degree (equivalent of a Master’s) or 4 years with undergraduate degree (equivalent of a BA/BS) in International Development, Health, Public Affairs, WASH, Food & Nutrition Security or related subjects.
- Very good technical affinity for communication in development context including knowledge of a wide range of development issues such as WASH, nutrition, entrepreneurship.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and mapping of opportunities to drive programme development and organizational growth.
- Experience in developing and implementing programme & partnerships strategies and related knowledge management.
- Entrepreneurial, independent worker and thinker.
- Self-starter, pro-active, a quick learner and flexible, with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal & cross cultural communications skills with interest in cultural aspects of (Horn of) Africa population
- Outstanding writing and editing skills.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Affinity with the mission of Max Foundation.
