Position: Fundraising Consultant
Location: The Netherlands (Hybrid / remote)
Hours: 24-40 per week

Help impact-driven organizations diversify their funding!

Are you excited by the idea of working with international NGOs and purpose-driven organizations to make their missions stronger?

At HVFC, we help our clients do good—better. We’re looking for a Fundraising Consultant who can manage multiple projects, take initiative, and collaborate with diverse teams and clients around the world. Someone who’s equally comfortable taking the lead or providing hands-on support when the situation calls for it.

About HVFC

At HVFC, we help impact-driven organizations to diversify and grow their funding. We do this by:

  • Providing advisory support, such as developing fundraising strategies or exploring new business models.
  • Boosting organizational capacity, through training and recruitment support.
  • Delivering hands-on implementation, acting as the flexible fundraising team that organizations need.

We are a hybrid and flexible organization. Our consultants and clients work from many countries. While we mostly work remotely, we regularly connect in person in The Hague or Eursinge (Drenthe), and also collaborate from our client offices or our international hubs.

What you'll do

As a Consultant, you’ll join our global team in the Netherlands, working closely with the CEO and other consultants. Your work will be varied — from leading client engagements to supporting colleagues on complex projects. You’ll combine strategic thinking with practical delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting client assignments around the world on topics such as:
    • Fundraising: donor mapping, profiling, relationship building, proposal development, ToC design, and strategy support.
    • Talent: recruitment support, designing and/or delivering training sessions.
  • Managing multiple projects at once and maintaining clear priorities.
  • Building and nurturing lasting relationships with clients.
  • Spotting opportunities for new collaborations and supporting business development.
  • Embodying and strengthening HVFC’s culture of curiosity, initiative, and collaboration.
  • Contributing to HVFC’s visibility and thought leadership.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, takes responsibility, and thrives in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

What you bring

You’re confident, proactive, and positive — the kind of person who brings energy to every project. You’re able to switch easily between independent work and teamwork, between supporting and leading roles.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 2–5 years of experience working with NGOs and/or donors (Dutch or international).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; you can stand your ground and bring others along.
  • A hands-on, structured, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment with multiple priorities.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English.
  • HBO or university degree (or equivalent).

Don’t meet every single criterion? We still encourage you to apply. We value potential and drive just as much as experience.

What we offer

  • A 1-year contract (24–40 hours/week) with possibility of extension.
  • Continuous learning through internal training and mentoring.
  • A hands-on opportunity to grow in fundraising, strategy, and talent development.
  • An informal, international, and supportive team culture.
  • Transparent and fair compensation with a clear growth path.
  • Travel reimbursement.
  • Flexible working arrangements — we’re also open to freelance collaborations.

How to apply

If this sounds like you, send your motivation letter and CV (in English) to recruitment@hvfc-international.com by 30 November 2025 (midnight CET).

Please reach out to Han Valk (CEO) at han@hvfc-international.com or via phone / app at +31 647 661 881 if you have questions about this role.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so don’t wait too long — we’ll start interviews as soon as promising applications come in.

We look forward to meeting you!
