Digital Content Creator (24-32 hours/week)

Location: The Hague

 

510 improves humanitarian action by developing data and digital solutions for our partners. 510 is part of the International Assistance division in the Netherlands Red Cross (NLRC). Since its founding in 2016, 510 has grown into a team of 60 core and project staff, students and volunteer experts. Our partners are Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee Of the Red Cross (ICRC). Our services include Digital Transformation and Information Management, major products focus on Cash Aid, Impact Based Forecasting and Digital Community Engagement.

 

We are looking for a Product Marketing & Communications Creator who is excited to support positioning 510’s services and products and enjoys sharing our expertise with the world. As a member of the 510 team, you will be involved with all thematic areas (anticipatory action, cash aid, emergency response, digital transformation, etc.) and act before, during, and after disasters to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people. This position requires on-site work in our The Hague (Netherlands) office. Within 510, you will be part of our operations team and support our Marketing & Communications Coordinator.

 

In 2023 our main objective is to scale up our 121 platform in the humanitarian sector. This platform helps humanitarian organizations provide affected communities with cash. For this product we need specific marketing & communication efforts. Other products that we intend to scale in 2023 are our Impact Based Forecasting platform, which visualizes the impact of upcoming disasters, and Digital Community Hub which enables two-way communication with people affected.

Your role

 

Within 3 months

  • You have created content such as articles, case studies and product videos every quarter to claim the expert role of 510 and NLRC
  • You have created online content for Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook
  • You created content for the new website
  • You have supported setting up a brand ambassador program
  • You have improved .ppt and .doc templates to embed brand guide for internal and external communication
  • You have supported and educated the team on creating well-structured internal and external communication (e.g. presentations, narratives)

 

Within 6 months

  • You have created new product photo’s for website and marketing materials
  • You have implemented an email marketing plan
  • You have collaborated on publication of technical manuals of 510 products

 

Within 12 months

  • You have supported the hosting of workshops & events
  • You have contributed to the development of a 2024 communications plan and content calendar

 

Your profile

  • Knowledge of social media and website development
  • Passion for storytelling
  • Great at translating technical content to a non-technical audience
  • Working proficiency in the English language
  • Capacity to create videos for web and presentations
  • Copywriting and editorial skills (English)
  • Knowledge of WordPress and capable of maintaining the 510 website

 

Note that a work and residence permit for the Netherlands is required

What we offer

We offer a flexible and social working environment with room for initiative and personal development. A contract for a year with the possibility to extend. The salary is set in scale 10 and dependent upon education and relevant professional experience (min. € 3.170,57 and max. € 4.008,07 gross based on fulltime position).

 

Our office is in the Hague, within walking distance from the Laan van NOI station. Based on our re-work concept you work partly from home and partly from the office. We regularly meet colleagues on the but also online via Teams to discuss cross-functional issues and to stay connected to each other and our networks.
