The Commons in Latin America: Struggles, Policies and Research

CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: PhD-students, scholars, practitioners, activist, policy makers

The commons has become a key concept to study social, environmental, political and cultural change. Despite growing interest in a range of academic fields and among different stakeholders, commons perspectives to Latin America are still fragmented. This Co-Lab aims at unpacking plural perspectives of the common the region and exploring ways to create a dialogue across different fields. PhD-students, scholars from different disciplines, practitioners, activists and policy-makers will debate and exchange knowledge on the commons in Latin America.

 

The programme offers: Key note speeches + Presentations + Master classes + Panels + Roundtables.

 

Topics of interests include (but are not limited to)

NATURAL COMMONS + GLOBAL COMMONS + URBAN COMMONS + SHARING ECONOMY + VIRTUAL COMMONS + SECURITY AS COMMONS + KNOWLEDGE COMMONS + MEMORY AS COMMONS

 

We invite:

PhD candidates to present their commons-related research. Please us send a one-page abstract of your research and your CV. There are a limited number of travel grants of up to €500,- available for candidates from outside the Netherlands.

activists, practitioners and policy makers to participate. Please send us your affiliation, a brief summary of your work experience and why you are interested in the commons.
